Employment

PLUGOLA has reached a point where we need to expand in order to continue. So we are going outside of our circle seeking help. This isn’t just a job or a simple position that must be filled. This is a great opportunity to be part of something huge; a new movement in how music is heard and consumed. The music industry, as well as all media outlets, is changing so significantly that the old pros don’t know what to do or which way to turn. We don’t claim to have all the answers, but we do have some solutions to help point artists in the right direction for distributing their music, and to be compensated for it. We are looking for a committed team member to help us be a part of this significant shift in the music industry.

Below are the positions that are open on the Plugola Inc. team. We are looking for persons preferably in the Chicagoland area. Although most work will be preformed remotely, occasional face-to-face meetings will be necessary.

Web Developer:

You should…

  • Maintain and build to PLUGOLA’s current platform (php/mysql)
  • Create web applications primarily using PHP
  • Have the ability to learn & adopt new languages, libraries & technologies as needed.
(A working knowledge of Flex/Flash or the willingness to learn is a plus)
  • Implement web interfaces using HTML, CSS, & Javascript
  • Working knowledge of PHP, relational databases and SQL (preferable MySQL)
  • Some experience designing and implementing software for multi-tier systems that aggregate, manipulate and display data-sets.
  • Ability to identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot and provide code optimization recommendations
  • Grasp on current web trends and technology
  • Bring new ideas to the table (yes, we want your input)
  • Dedicate a minimum of 20 hours per week - Disciplined to work remotely (at this time)
  • Ability to work with others (design team, dev meetings, etc.)
  • Have a love for new music and technology that borders on insanity

We’re focusing on the social, indie and DIY aspects of the new, digital age in music. While most of talk around the music industry is aimed at major label acts, we believe the independent musicians, the backbone of the music industry, are being left out. Many music web services have become very well-known because of the indies and in the long run, have turned their backs, leaving independent musicians/bands in the cold. Plugola wants to give the artists a home they can rely on in the long term.

At this time we can only offer stock options as payment, however all terms are negotiable.

If this sounds like a team you want to be a part of, please send us your resume/portfolio.
